Emergency services, including fire engines, helicopter and an 'air tractor' fire fighting aircraft, rush to extinguish fire very close to Benidorm residential area and Aqualandia water park.At around 17.15 local time a fire broke out on the Sierra Gelada Mountains, that extend from Benidorm to Albir. The origin of the fire is as yet undefined, but emergency services worked hard and efficiently at putting the fire out, which was raised to a level 1 emergency by the Emergency Coordination Center, due to the closeness of Aqualandia Water Park and other residential areas. The fire fighting plane picked up sea water in the bay between Altea and Albir and flew back across the mountains to douse the fire.
