We have heard all sorts of tales about Spanish funerals in terms of cost and speed. The whole process is so different... to the UK. Finally, we settled on Avalon and it has been one of our best decisions. Not only are we covered in Spain AND the UK, our nearest and dearest only need to make one phone call to trigger the whole process and they do the rest. This is a complete scam: the company is bombarding elderly people who live in Spain with ads in YouTube and other... channels, posting false claims about the "complex Spanish funeral system" and by doing so tricking them into an obsolete contract.read more

Avalon's service was absolutely faultless when dealing with my mother's death and subsequent funeral. The chap we dealt... with, Mike, kept us updated at every stage and phoned afterwards to ensure everything went well. The celebrant they chose for us, Sonja, was fantastic at the funeral itself. Her words summed up Mum perfectly. As well as doing the service in English, she also did part of the service in Spanish which meant our Spanish neighbours and Mum's carer from the hospital felt more included.I'm almost looking forward to my funeral with them.read more

Now that I have received all my paperwork and everything is in order, I feel I can give a more realistic review of how... the process, and interaction with this company has been for me. I only had one small issue which was dealt with very well and I now have reassurance that everything has been sorted and all details have been correctly noted, so I'm very happy with this. The staff with whom I have had contact, have all been very helpful, pleasant and have explained everything perfectly well so no confusion. I am very pleased that I have done this as I know the system here in Spain is very different and can be overwhelming if you do not speak the language so now my family won't have to worry . I recently Quite suddenly lost my beloved wife Liz after a short illness.Living in central Portugal, & having an... Avalon Plan, they very quickly appointed "Nelson" of Guerreiro & Guerreiro In Lagos as the undertaker who in turn appointed Father Rob Kean as the Anglican vicar. I can only say that the service provided by both the undertaker & priest was outstanding, carried our with true professionalism , Dignity & respect. Every aspect of the church service & the crematorium of my choice, was carried out exactly as i wanted it nothing was to much trouble, they carried out my every wish to make the departure of my sole mate of 58 years perfect.I cannot praise & recommend the service provided by Avalon enough, it truly was very good value for money, because to achieve what their English speaking undertaker & Priest did in the dignified way that they did, in the very short time available in a foreign country yourself, would be impossible.read more

My Mother died during the covid second wave. Unfortunately we were unable to give her the funeral in Spain that she had... wanted and had paid for as none of the family were able to get here. So Avalon arranged a very small cremation and even repaid some of the costs so that we could organise a tribute to her in England. This was unexpected and a tribute to the understanding of the staff. I would recommend them.read more
