Motor sales rev up

AFTER a worrying period that saw seven successive months of falling automobile sales the number of vehicles sold increased in April. These increased by 2.6% last month, with total sales of 119,417 cars and off road vehicles. However, there is still caution as Easter week is traditionally a strong time for new car purchases. This was in March last year and comparing April 2019 and March 2018 sees a fall of new registrations by 1%. Also a lot of the increase was driven (no pun intended) by company purchases whereas the numbers for individual sales still fell. Overall the automotive sector in Spain is down by 4.5% for the first four months of this year.
