Building sector flexing its muscles once again

A report by the Alicante Association of Real Estate Developers that was published last week has said that the property development sector is in very good shape after almost a decade of bad times. Various factors were measured including sales, ongoing new developments and projects in the pipeline and found it performing well on all counts. The report stated “Alicante is still a national reference point in the purchase and sale of homes” with only Madrid and Barcelona shifting more properties in the first quarter of 2019 with Alicante actually having the most per capita provincial sales. Houses sold to foreigners are still driving the market, accounting for 41% of the total. The report also predicts a strong second quarter this year as it includes Easter week, when a lot of purchases are traditionally made as people have time off work
