Valencian Community have cancels fiestas
MOST municipalities across the Valencian Community have cancelled or postponed fiestas and other events planned for the next four months and many are conceding that nothing is likely to proceed this year. While there are hopes that home confinement will be lifted within a few weeks, large gatherings of people are unlikely to be permitted for the foreseeable future. Yesterday the Alicante towns of Ibi and Guardamar del Segura announced that their respective Moors and Christians events would be cancelled for 2020, even though the Ibi fiesta was not scheduled until September. Torrent has taken similar steps as have Castellon while Elda has moved theirs from June to October – but watch this space.
