Raft of rules for shopping centres planning to open

Markers will be laid out on the floor for social distancing as well as stairs, lifts and public toilets. The latter will need to be regularly cleaned and kept stocked with hand cleanser etc. which should also be available at other key points in the centres. Group events and gatherings will be postponed or cancelled, and CCTV systems installed to ensure all measures are being followed. Capacity is expected to be limited to 40%, pensioners will be allocated special shopping hours, including car parks etc so there is no overlap with other adults and children. These rules are being put together by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism as well as the Health Ministry and are subject to change as, indeed, is the introduction of Phase 2.
