IN NO HURRY

SPAIN´S new parliament will probably vote at the beginning of July on who will become prime minister, according to government spokeswoman Isabel Celaa.

Acting Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez’s PSOE Socialists got the highest number of seats at last month´s general election, but fell well short of a majority in Congress.

It would be a massive shock if Sanchez did not continue, as the opposition parties are fragmented and cannot muster a majority either.

“We are guessing that the investiture might happen at the end of June or at the start of July, though July is more realistic,” Celaa said after the weekly cabinet meeting.

Meanwhile Spain goes to the polls again this Sunday for the European elections as well as voting for all of the country´s local municipalities, with nearly 97 thousand British expats registered to vote in the Valencia region.
