Super surge by the sea

PROPERTY prices at the exclusive Sandbanks peninsula on the Dorset coast rose by £162,000 (€184,000) in the last year alone, making it the hottest property spot in the UK according to major lender Halifax. The average house price there is now around £800,000 with estate agents saying that the massive rise is a matter of simple supply and demand while the “bored with Brexit” housing bounce is also a factor as people return to the market rather than wait until Brexit is resolved.   A coastal location in the UK is far from a guarantee of high prices and while places like Sandbanks, Brighton and Padstow (Cornwall) will set you back half a million quid or so, for a family house in the likes of Clacton, Redcar and many Scottish towns they are a quarter of that.
