Spanish nationals home safely
AROUND 9,500 Spanish who were on holiday in Morocco before the North African country suddenly announced it would be closing its borders have made their way back home following a major repatriation exercise. The Moroccan government said all land and sea points of entry with Spain would be closed this week and after negotiations with airlines and government officials it appears all have now returned home. 4,500 were able to cross the Ceuta border and 600 came through Melilla, both Spanish enclaves with land borders to Morocco. The rest were flown back, and the two countries are now effectively closed off to each other for the foreseeable future.
