LATEST figures show that luxury real estate sales to foreigners - classified as properties costing more than half a million euros - have increased by 40% in the Valencian Community. Although the region sells more houses to foreigners than anywhere else in the country, they have only a small share of the luxury market. These accounted for 2.18% of total sales as opposed to the Balearic Islands where 20% of properties sold to non-Spaniards went for over €500,000. However, despite not being a great player in the luxury sector, the Valencian Community still accounts for about a third of all sales made to foreigners.
