The Communities third airport, Castellon, has now opened routes to the Hungarian capital of Budapest for the first time.
Operated by Wizz Air there will be two flights a week throughout the summer, each Wednesday and Sunday. The first flight from the country arrived last weekend and was met in the traditional fashion by passing under an arch of water made by fire trucks. Adding to the the airports other new Eastern European route of Katowice (Poland) they hope to see an extra 18,000 passengers a year, many of who will travel south to the Alicante and Valencia provinces.
