Burnt and stabbed

Fire fighters who extinguished a blaze in a property in Cordoba found two bodies in the burnt out building, both victims of stabbings.
The pair were middle aged and the investigation has been passed over to the National Police. Although the authorities have made it clear that they are keeping an open mind, sources have said that the incident is most likely a gender violence killing and suicide. The dead male is alleged to have been on parole for the murder of his ex-partner in Cadiz about 15 years ago. The Andalusian Institute of Women has said that the dead female was not a user of the services they provide to help victims of gender abuse in the region. By Simon Russell
