Gender violence stabbing in Castellon

A 31-year-old man killed himself in the Castellon province of the Valencian Community after stabbing his partner in the stomach, the emergency services information team announced. They were contacted at around 12.30am on Thursday morning and called out to Almassora to assist the woman, aged 45. Two ambulances and a Primary Care doctor attended and after stabilising her she was moved to the local hospital. The death of a 31-year-old man close to the scene was also reported. He was confirmed as the victim’s partner and was found in the street, dead from self-inflicted wounds. The female victim is now said to be out of danger. Police sources say that the dead man had been under investigation for gender violence. However, his partner had withdrawn the complaint recently. An investigation will be opened into the incident.
