Festival dates and details confirmed

THIS year Jesus Nazareno celebrations will be held from 24 April to 4 May, finishing a day later than the usual 3 May. The 28 April elections have prompted some last minute changes, although everything that was originally planned is still scheduled. This includes the Xabia Folk Festival, which will be on the 26 to 28 April at Plaza de la Constitucion where a marquee will be installed. There will also be a one-off concert on 4 May at the Santa Lucia Hermitage.

There will be theatre nights on 28 and 29 April as well as 2 May and on 4 May there will be a stand up comic festival hosted by well known local comedian Oscar Tramoyeres. Bullfighting is not everyone’s cup of tea, but as usual these will be part of the festival and will be at Placeta del Convent from 25 to 28 April inclusive. Vicente Tur, President of the Nazareno Brotherhood presented the full timetable, saying it “shows  commitment to local culture and charity”, and announced a charity concert being held for Red Cross and Caritas on 30 April.
