Fake nurse detained in Galicia

HEALTH centres and care homes are desperate for the experienced staff at the moment, especially qualified doctors and nurses. However, an individual in Galicia has been detained by the authorities for applying for a nursing role in a residential home for the elderly in Culleredo. The role was advertised on the internet via a specialist portal and a job interview was arranged. At this, the detainee produced certificates of a nursing degree attained in Madrid, which management at the home became suspicious about. Comments made by the candidate at the interview also raised questions about their knowledge of the job. The Guardia Civil began an investigation and arrested the individual after ascertaining that the documentation was forged. They are also looking into whether the paperwork has been used to obtain work previously.
