Wind farm tragedy
A 41-year-old man died after being electrocuted on a wind farm at La Yesa (Valencia) last Thursday. CICU, the emergency services co-ordination centre, released the details on Friday, saying that two medical crews and a helicopter attended the remote scene of the accident. CPR was performed but the team were unable to get any response and his death was confirmed at the scene. An investigation into the accident, which has been listed as an occupational death, will be carried out. La Yesa is a small inland village in the Valencian province and the wind farm there have 16 of the giant turbines which each generate 2,500 kilowatts of power.
