Vulnerable elderly being treated like “cattle”

Firefighters largely responsible for moving these sick to hospitals and health centres have said that the patients are being treated no “better than livestock”, packed into ambulances without proper PPE or other basic precautions. A recent pick up in Caceres saw a number of elderly packed in with a number of other patients from a different care home, all going for checks at the same hospital. The service is outsourced to an external firm. One fireman aid that the situation made him want to cry, knowing that the victims would have to face two weeks in quarantine on return to the residential home, an unwelcome change in routine.
