Spain’s kids could still be missing school after summer
THE Spanish Minister of Education, Isabel Celaa, has said that only half of the countries’ schoolchildren will be back in the classrooms in September if no vaccine for Covid-29 has been developed. To comply with social distancing guidelines only 15 children will be allowed in the same classroom while the rest continue to work from home. This is one of the measures coming out of plans for the “new normal” across Spain, including education. Those attending will depend on various criteria, including the flexibility of their parents so kids of key workers, for example, will receive priority places. Some children may attend for only one or two days a week, depending on class sizes and other factors.
