School run traffic issue addressed
THE Alicante Provincial Council have agreed to a project to construct a new roundabout to ease the problem with the jump in traffic where Javea meets Benitatxell after a private school opened last year. Locals in parts of Benitatxell had complained about the extra number of vehicles passing through after the 1,100 student school opened in Cumbre del Sol at the start of this school year. The new 18 metre diameter roundabout is to be built at Calle Capelletes where traffic accesses Benitatxell from Javea. Hopefully it will also solve the issue of people using local camis as “rat runs” to avoid the bottlenecks.
