PUIG´S ROAD PLEDGE

VALENCIAN government president Ximo Puig has promised that the CV-95 road between Orihuela and Torrevieja will be upgraded to a dual carriageway, during an election campaign visit to Orihuela City.
Puig, of the Socialist PSOE party, is looking for four more years in power in the Valencian regional elections on Sunday, April 28th, the same date as the national general election.
The president blamed the state of finances inherited from the previous Partido Popular administration over a lack of progress on expanding the CV-95 but promised that the upgrade “would become a reality over the next four years” if he was re-elected.
Other election pledges included a 100 million euro investment in a 10-year modernisation plan to improve irrigation and water quality for vegetable and fruit growers in the Vega Baja region, as well as expansion plans for Orihuela´s Vega Baja Hospital.
