NEWS POPULAR PRESENTER DIES

RADIO DJ and entertainer Dean Alexanda died of a heart attack last Thursday(February 20th) as he was getting ready to do an evening gig at San Miguel de Salinas, inland to Torrevieja, half an hour´s drive south of Alicante-Elche airport.

Dean, aged 57, was the presenter of the Breakfast Show on BR2 operated by Quesada-based Big FM.

He had worked on the station since coming to Spain four years ago, and was a familiar figure in the area doing music and karaoke gigs in local bars and clubs, in addition to raising money for charity..

Big FM manager, Richie Sparkes, announced the news on Facebook on Friday:-“Words do fail me with the passing of my good friend and colleague Dean.   He has been a huge part of the station, and his passion for his job and family was an inspiration and he will be sadly missed”.

Dean had a passion from his childhood for music and he started spinning records as a 17-year-old at gigs in London area pubs and clubs.

Big FM has opened up a book of condolence for people to sign at their Quesada studios.
