SAN JAVIER council has been given 200 thousand euros by the Murcia government to advertise the area as a tourist destination based on its aviation connections.
After January´s transfer of the regional airport to Corvera, the empty terminal building will be converted to house the 44 vintage aircraft belonging to the Fundacion Infante de Orleans, currently based in the Madrid area.
San Javier council is also looking to create an open-air aviation museum, as well continuing with the strong links to the Spanish Air Academy that´s based at the San Javier airfield, which includes the country´s answer to the Red Arrows, the Patrulla Águila.
