Hold your horses
THE Javea Rotary Club and Jose Argudo equestrian Centre collaborated in organising a trip where special needs students spent the day with horses. A bus picked the kids up from their school, CP L’Arenal de Xabia, and the group, accompanied by teachers, went to the centre just outside Denia. They were able to pet, feed and ride the horses there, something which has been shown to help with the children’s development. Many had never been in close contact with horses before and everyone agreed that the day was a great success with the weather also playing along. Interaction with animals such as these helps develop some children’s senses and abilities while also enjoying themselves in a different environment.
