THE Original Charity Library in Javea is holding its Spring Book Sale at the Iceland supermarket in the town on 18 May, from 10am until 4pm. They have ensured there will be something for everyone on sale, covering contemporary novels, cook books, kids books, art, craft and biographies, all at the bargain price of 50 cents. There was also fund-raising news from the Library’s sister shop, the Original Charity Shop Javea, after the five members of the OCSL Warriors team successfully completed the 29 km Mirador Challenge earlier in April. They announced this week that their efforts had raised €2,010 which was split equally between the town’s Department of Equality and the “Spread some Sunshine” organisation. The Equality Department have said that the cash will be used for the support and recovery programme for local victims of gender violence. Spread some Sunshine will use the donation to help children’s homes in Sri Lanka, a cause that is even more vital after the recent atrocities there.
