BRITS ELECTED

TWO British people will take their place on San Fulgencio council, after the Partido Popular were routed in last Sunday´s local elections.   Ex-PIPN party members Samantha Hull and Darren Parmenter were part of the PSOE Socialist slate that came top of the poll, winning six seats with 41 per cent of the vote in an area that includes the La Marina urbanisation.   José Sampere Ballester will become the new mayor, though the PSOE was just a handful of votes short in getting an overall majority.   The PP lost five councillors, and were made to pay over the controversial ex-mayor Carlos Ramirez, who was barred from public office 18 months ago, as well as constant criticism over their neglect of La Marina.
