A team of five plucky souls representing the Original Charity Shop in Javea are taking part in this years Mirador Challenge, a testing 29 km hike that takes in all of the town’s 15 wonderful viewing points, or miradors. Aileen, Gina, Karina, George and Steve are aiming to raise funds for this years chosen charities, the Javea Psychological Support Programme and the “Spread some Sunshine” organisation. The former supports victims of gender violence while the latter is helping fund children’s homes in Sri Lanka. If you want to sponsor the brave band, forms are available in the Original Charity Shop at Javea Park (Carrer de Nancy 1) and the Javea Park Library (open 10am to 1pm, Monday to Saturday).
