Washed out fair rescheduled
ONDARA’S cultural and gastronomic fair, which had to be cancelled last month due to the poor weather, will now be held on 8 June. The event is to be spread over the Prado, Avenida General Bosch and Plaza de Bous and will have a variety of culture, music, entertainment and gastronomy on offer. One of the highlights is the book fair which will be on Avenida General Bosch and will have a number of book stalls as well as appearances by local and regional writers and publishers. The Municipal Library will also have its own stand and will be distributing free books.
Food and drink will be well catered for, with a wide range of local products available plus a dedicated wine fair featuring 14 wineries from the region. There is also a craft market with around 20 stalls selling home-made items which will be on Central del Prado. For the children there will be games and workshops while a guided tour of points of historical interest in the town will also be conducted. To round things off there is a concert in the evening at Plaza de Bous starring Maria del Mar Bonet with this date featuring as part of her 50th anniversary tour.
The opening times for the main fair are 11am until 1.30pm and then 4pm until 10pm. See the tourist office or town hall for further information and please check before travelling if the weather is poor.
