Queue to bag a beach bar
THE jostle to establish who will be running Denia’s chiringuitos during the summer has now started, with 22 bids on the table for the town’s six beach bars. Tenders of over €100,000 have been put in for the two seen as the most lucrative, on Punta del Raset and Marineta Cassiana. The bids for the others range from €12,000 to €52,000. After issues with the process in 2018 the tender has gone to bi-annual and all bidders have passed the initial phase without any irregularities, although two bids were received past the cut off date and have been withdrawn. Some businesses have submitted multiple tenders and one has bid on all six bars.
