Local beauty spot closed
CALA Ambolo, regarded by many as Javea’s most beautiful beach, has been closed to bathers due to the risk of rockfalls and landslides. The mesh cages installed a decade ago to protect the public were all but destroyed in the Easter storms and people were warned about the risks. However, many ignored them and the council have now closed off the access road to all but residents while fences have been placed across the areas of pedestrian access. The town hall has not yet said when the cove is likely to be reopened but it is a major attraction in the area and was voted one of Europe’s top 50 beaches last year.
