Gender violence on lockdown woman thrown from third floor
A 45-year-old man is in detention in Valladolid (Castile y Leon) after allegedly killing his wife after allegedly throwing her out of a third floor window. The authorities were alerted at 5.00 on Monday morning and arrested the man after his 56-year-old wife was confirmed dead at the scene in the Pajarillos area of the city. The authorities have said it is too early in the investigation to confirm it as a gender violence death. However, Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska said in a press release “this morning there has been a new murder by sexist violence in Valladolid. We have in place a fully updated plan to defend women, and the victims must feel protected” indicating it would add yet another name to the thousands of women to die at the hands of their partners in Spain.
