Four weeks of tapas
DENIA’S sixteenth Ruta de Tapas organised by GuiaME Denia in collaboration with the Tourist Office, Hospitality Association and Marina Alta Tourism Entrepreneurs (Aehtma) starts on 20 February and runs until 15 March. Forty bars and restaurants are taking part and will be offering a home-made tapa and drink (caña, vermouth or wine) for €3.
As usual, there will be prizes for both the venues and their customers including an outdoor oven, hotel stay and meal for two. There are cash prizes and a plaque for the establishments judged to have created the best tapa in separate votes by a judging panel and the public as well as best dish using local products as judged by Aehtma. There will also be a prize draw for customers who have had their “passport” stamped in at least 15 different locations. People who visit all 40 participatory establishments will enter a special draw with a prize of a €500 gift voucher to be spent in the Portal de la Marina shopping centre. See www.denia.es, the town hall website, for a full list of places taking part.
