Pedro Sánchez asks the regional presidents to maintain unity and cooperation in the face of this coronavirus emergency situation. The president will request authorization from Congress to extend the state of alarm, which will coincide with Easter Sunday April 12. President Sánchez has communicated the decision of the Executive, which will need the authorization of the Congress of Deputies. The latest increase in contagions and deaths due to coronaviruses in Spain, which registers 1,720 deaths and 28,572 infected cases according to the latest balance from the Ministry of Health. Face masks in Spain are now compulsory as new rules are made today

		

		

			After more than two months of lockdown measures and when the coronavirus was at its peak, you would have thought that it would be then that face masks were compulsory to be worn in public. Only now after months of research, the Spanish government have made new rules making the use of protective face masks obligatory in public spaces.

			Cinemas, theatres, auditoriums and other similar establishments for cultural performances may re-open, at a third of their capacity, also allowed are wedding celebrations or other social religious ceremonies, friends and family in groups up to 15 people,  retail and service provision, shopping centres and shopping parks can reopen to the public.  Bar and restaurant activities, the reopening to the public of these establishments for consumption on the premises, except for nightclub bars and nightlife bars, as long as they do not exceed forty per cent of their capacity and the public areas of the hotels and tourist accommodation may be reopened to the public, provided that they do not exceed a third of their capacity.
