Mallorcan arrest after Valencia rape

A 26-year-old man has been arrested in Mallorca and charged with raping an 18-year-old girl at a party in Valencia last weekend. The accused lives in the Balearics and was visiting a friend in Valencia where the pair were invited to a party. Large amounts of alcohol were consumed, and the man said that the sex was consensual. However, friends of the victim gave statements saying that they found her crying inconsolably, saying she had been raped. Crucially, a medical report said that she had injuries compatible with a vicious sexual assault. The police also heard how she had been behaving oddly at the party and believe the defendant may have drugged her, possibly with a “date rape” substance such as rohypnol.

Bar and restaurant activities, the reopening to the public of these establishments for consumption on the premises, except for nightclub bars and nightlife bars, as long as they do not exceed forty per cent of their capacity and the public areas of the hotels and tourist accommodation may be reopened to the public, provided that they do not exceed a third of their capacity.
