Fake cash arrest
TWO males, one of them a minor, have been arrested under suspicion of paying for over €2,000 worth of motorbike parts with counterfeit money. The incident happened at the beginning of this year in a parts shop in Elche when a man ordered the pieces and left a deposit of €30, in cash and legal tender. When the items arrived a few days later the minor went to collect them, handing over €2,050 in cash. Although he had not realised it at the time, the proprietor later discovered that the money was fake and reported the matter to the police. They found that the names, ID and address given by the pair were false and started an operation to trace them. The two suspects were found and arrested this week, and are aged 37 and 17.
